Global role for Gavin Smith, while Adam Armstrong takes over as managing director RCL Cruises Australia & NZ.
RCL Cruises has just announced the appointment of Gavin Smith to the role of Senior Vice President International. Effective immediately the new role sees him responsible for all sales, marketing and commercial operations for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Australasia.
Smith, who opened RCL’s first Australian office in 2008, will report to Royal Caribbean International president and ceo MIchael Bayley, and taking over his role as managing director RCL Cruises Australia and New Zealand will be Adam Armstrong.
Dominic Paul, the outgoing Senior Vice President International has accepted a position as ceo of a UK based business, and departs RCL on 01 May 2016.
An announcement regarding a replacement for Armstrong’s Regional Commercial Director role will be made in due course, the company said.
