Agency partners advised of SIA commission reduction effective 01 October.
Singapore Airlines will reduce BSP base commission on its international airfares sold in Australia to 1% effective 01 October 2022, according to an industry update just issued by the carrier.
The airline said the decision had “not been taken lightly,” citing a range of factors including the highly challenging operating environment and “a need to better align to the local, regional and global market conditions”.
“SIA recognises the impact this decision will have on our agency partners and is committed to ongoing engagement with key partners in the months ahead in preparation for the change,” said SIA GM Agency Sales, Greg McJarrow.
“The travel agency community in Australia will continue to play an integral role in our distribution strategy and SIA’s commitment to the agency community is unwavering,” he insisted.
