Industry veteran to step away from leading Express Travel Group (ETG).
Well-known travel executive Tom Manwaring will retire from his role as CEO of ETG, effective 30 June.
As a result of this change, General Manager Sales & Marketing at ETG, Jason Aghan, will replace Manwaring in the role as Group General Manager, and effective 01 July, all ETG senior management will report directly to Aghan.
But the journey is not over for Manwaring, who has accepted the role of Non-Executive Chairman of ETG, as well as First Travel Group.
Manwaring has helmed the ETG business since 2003, having continued to steer the brand after the independent travel agency network was acquired by Helloworld in 2023 for $70 million.
“Jason is the best person to lead our network of members into the next chapter of its success,” Manwaring said.
“I am proud of the network and the legacy it will continue to have in the travel Industry, and I am also delighted to be taking on a role that allows me to be involved with the business across Australia and New Zealand,” he added.
