The DMO’s Executive Director, Strategy and Engagement, Stephanie Underwood, will fill the role until a permanent replacement is found.
Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull has announced her departure from the government body to pursue new opportunities.
The State Government has thanked Turnbull for her contribution to tourism in Western Australia, having played a major role in the state’s strong recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of the State Government, I’d like to thank Carolyn for her service, dedication and leadership over the past two and a half years,” WA Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti said.
“Carolyn has played a huge role in steering Western Australian tourism out of the pandemic and has overseen some major achievements for Tourism WA and the state.”
Turnbull’s last day will be Friday 10 May.
MEANWHILE, the ACCC has given draft approval to Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand to operate a unilateral Trans-Tasman codeshare arrangement for a period of five years.
The carriers revealed plans to launch a new unilateral trans-Tasman codeshare agreement last year, with the move arriving five-and-a-half years after Air NZ sensationally dissolved its trans-Tasman alliance with VA.
