The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Webjet Group Chief Commercial Officer, Shelley Beasley, as a Director of the organisation.
Beasley steps into a current vacancy on the Board, while several other directors are up for reappointment at the upcoming AFTA Annual General Meeting scheduled for 23 September, as follows:
– Spiros Alysandratos, Consolidated Travel
– Julie Primmer, Helloworld Travel
– Andrew Macfarlane, Magellan Travel
– Graham Turner, Flight Centre Travel Group
– David Smith, Flight Centre Travel Group
– Ian Edwards, CT Partners
Two nominations for roles on the AFTA Board have also been received, from Michelle Emerton of the Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) and Simon Te Hennepe from Travlr Pty Limited.
AFTA Chairman Tom Manwaring said “we are pleased to welcome Shelley Beasley to the AFTA Board following Webjet becoming ATAS accredited and an AFTA member. Now more than ever we need to speak with one voice in order to secure government support, and having Webjet as part of the AFTA family amplifies our impact,” he said.
