Milestone reached for WSI with blue chip carrier putting pen to paper. |
WSI has landed the signature of Singapore Airlines, with the carrier formally agreeing to use the hub when it becomes operational in 2026.
WSI CEO Simon Hickey said the announcement was recognition of the unique scheduling opportunities the 24/7 airport will offer carriers like SIA.
“WSI’s late-night departure capacity will allow SIA business travellers for instance to finish a full day’s work in Sydney, take an overnight flight and arrive in Singapore before their first morning meeting,” Hickey said.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be present at the official announcement on the runway of WSI later this morning.
