Air New Zealand will operate the first services from Western Sydney International Airport across the Tasman.
Air New Zealand has been confirmed as the latest airline to commit to flying from Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), with direct services to Auckland to begin from mid-2027.
The route has been secured as part of the NSW state government’s $16 million Take-Off Fund, which aims to incentivise airlines to operate from the new gateway and which is forecast to provide 162,000 new international visitors to Sydney and $530 million in visitor expenditure.
Air New Zealand now joins Qantas, Jetstar and Singapore Airlines as carriers committed to flying from WSI.
The new route will be in addition to Air NZ’s existing services to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, backed by Nielsen research showing Sydney as the most popular destination for Kiwis travelling overseas.
