Tourism Australia today launched a new ‘City Escapes’ campaign at its annual Destination Australia conference in Sydney.
The campaign has a particular focus on encouraging Australians to book a city escape this year, and is the latest iteration of TA’s domestic focused ‘Holiday Here This Year’ campaign, which seeks to stimulate domestic demand and the recovery of the tourism industry.
As the key international gateways to Australia and transit hubs for travellers, and our most reliant tourism destinations, our cities have been hard hit by the COVID pandemic with many domestic travellers opting for regional getaways due to concerns around health and safety.
